Police search for man accused of abducting woman from shopping center
Police are searching for a man who is accused of abducting a woman from a busy shopping center Thursday.
Police said the woman may have been abducted by her estranged boyfriend, Dwayne Holmes-Bey, from the South Hills Village shopping area.
The Bethel Park Police Department said they received a call from someone at the retail hub just before 3:30 p.m. saying the woman was in distress and asking someone to call police because Holmes-Bey, 24, was stalking her.
The woman was found safe in Pittsburgh Thursday night, officials said.
Police said the woman has a protection from abuse order filed against Holmes-Bey.
The caller told police that Holmes-Bey said, “She is going with me,” and then reached to his hip and said, “I’ll show you what I’m going to do about it.”
The pair is believed to have gotten onto the Port Authority T line, headed toward Pittsburgh.
Cell phone records indicate the woman was in the Panther Hollow area around 5:30 p.m.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Holmes-Bey is asked to call Bethel Park police at 412-833-2000.
